Today is the day Robyn and I have been waiting for since the dead of winter. We are beginning our tour across North America from Syracuse, NY, en-route to Buffalo, NY, by week’s end. Our bikes are fully loaded (seriously where did all this stuff come from!?) and ready to roll through Downtown Syracuse to our first of many miles on New York State’s beautiful Erie Canalway Trail. We are both excited to experience and learn about the historic Erie Canal, Robyn having a vested interest from a studio project and I from the historic nature of the first major transportation project, from its beginnings as “Clinton’s Ditch” to its much-celebrated opening in 1825. We both look forward to exploring all the small canal towns along the route as well as meeting the folks who make the Canalway Trail and towns the success they are.
We hope you will join us on our grand voyage, and look forward to sharing our experiences and highlighting all the unique, innovative, and creative planning that is being implemented across the land. As always, please let us know what you think! We would love to hear from you.
